SIMulated

Ah. Yesterday was the last day of this semester in uni. Exams are in a week's time. And it's been 9 days since Star Wars Episode 3 (which by the way I haven't watched) been released.
It's amazing how time flies.
Everyone around me seems to be either stressed about their coming exams or simply waiting for the holidays already. I, for one, am dwelving in a bit of both. I'm not stressing too much over the exams (which really raises an eyebrow to wonder if that's a good sign) and yet am worried if I'll do badly. And on the other hand, I just can't wait for the hols!

The most worrying thing however, is that even as I hit the books, flipping each page slowly and painstakingly, I can't help but wonder:
"How am I gonna design my next house?",
"I wonder if I could improve on that design I did yesterday?" or
"What am I gonna decorate that living room with?"

Esther had recently downloaded The Sims on her Mac and installed it to play on my computer. And I, being a first-timer in this game, have been nothing short of being in awe of it. It may not be as fancy and detailed as its sequal, but it definitely holds its trophies well to deliver addictive gameplay.

Okay, okay. I have to make myself clear though. As clearly as I can see how addictive the gameplay can be, I actually don't find it THAT interesting. What interests me however, is how I can design my very own house; tearing one down and building an entire new mansion to myself - custom designed. Now THAT'S interesting.

So far I've only built one, and as you can see, that's quite something. You should see its inside - I made sure the master bedroom was made of pure luxury. And when I was done, I was fairly proud of myself, really. Until I saw Esther's do-over of a nearby house that is...

It's even got its own detached mini-house in its backyard that serves no other purpose but as a playhouse for the kids! It's a house full of toys!! And if you look closely, it's even got a mini gym and a basketball half-court by its side! And the pool!! Look at THAT pool! You could dock a ship in that pool!
:O

I am so thankful she didn't get Sims 2. It would've been a disaster and I can then kiss my studies goodbye. I must admit that it could prove itself to be quite a distraction during these trying days. But by God's grace I shall stand strong and tall (metaphorical that last bit) amidst this trial. May it be that throughout the following week - this blessed, sacred swot-vac week, I'll be able to pay full attention in studying and discipline myself to balance my studies and play efficiently according to priorities. Studies come first. All may follow after.
After this weekend, that is...

Amen!
