It has been about eight days since my last exam.
While the days may have been stretched and difficult, it has definitely been good.
I hate the fact that many are gone/going. Summer's here and a lot have flown back to Singapore or Malaysia for the three month break. It's even longer this time round because in 2008, uni is starting slightly later in the year than in previous semesters. A friend pointed out that in summer, we start making 'fake' friends. People we don't usually hang out with but due to the fact that almost everyone's gone, we start hanging out together. And when the holiday ends, we go back to our usual cliques. Cruel. But I see some sense in it.
I still hate it though.
I've been working almost every weekday now at the deli. The manager wants me in as often as possible but I can take days off if I wanted to, given a valid reason of course. So in the afternoons, I'd be making sandwiches till about 4pm. Then after, I'd usually rest a while before heading out.
I've been getting closer to my core team at urban life. Since the end of my exams, I've been having meals and coffees with them more often, and it's been great. It has only been about 2 months since the pioneering teams kicked off, I think, and that's about how long I've got to known this team for as well. And yet, I feel a certain sense of belonging already when around them. The 3 are slowly becoming like family to me now. I like this.
Brodie, Iris, and Beth are good company. So are Tasmanians. I've been spending most of my weekend with them, where activities included driving aimlessly around the city at night, kidnapping Winnie, riding the ferris wheel off Flinders St., dining at Argy Bargy (the most amazing place in the world because they screen retro Transformers episodes, have a teddy on a turntable, and have retro Duck Hunt on Nintendo; all the way with the guns), Fruity-Bix tournaments, and dancing at 11pm in a park.
There's 3 more days left to the month.
It's exciting.
And my parents are arriving on the 1st too.

ya.. i know what you mean about making friends with people you dont usually get too friendly with and after holidays are done so are the friends. hehehe...
while i was in sydney we made a name for them people... "SUMMERFRIENDS" :) hehehehe...
