Thank God it's Friday. No really. It has been the most depressing week so far. Uni. Job application replies. Uni. Uni. And uni. It was so depressing that on Thursday morning, I woke up sostressed that I was actually thinking of downing a glass of wine before a midsem paper. Which really wasn't going to be much of a deal, I suppose. But the thought's simply never struck me before. Hence, through the power of deduction, I must have been really stressed that morning

But again, thank God it's Friday. It's the weekend, and on the weekend, I can rest. Though not much, as the busyness has yet to end, I could at least spend tonight watching a DVD at least before diving back into unilife. I've got another midsem paper on Tuesday. And after next week, the holidays are here.
I so can't wait.

But just before that, something interesting happened today. Nothing big, really. But it was definitely a great start to the weekend for me. It arrived in the mailbox today which my mum picked up in the arvo (oh yea, my parents are here). Opening up the envelope, I found an issue of Indusage, a local Indian tabloid (in English, that is). And guess what?

Remember my post last month about the taxi protest that took place in Flinders?
Well, does the picture look familiar?

Hehehe. That's right, folks. My pictures got published! Haha! I know it's not much. Plus, I wasn't paid. But still, my pictures got published! And it wasn't just one!

Wheee! And it's got my name on it! Three times! Wheee!!
Hehe. Like I said. It's not a big deal. Nothing great, really. But at least it made the peak of my week. So far.
Oh well. I just wished this break would last a little longer.

Time for a breather.
Holidays are here. Although just a short two weeks. It's better than nothing. The only crappy bit to complain about is having to hand in a Finance assignment coming Wednesday (in the middle of the holiday, yes), and another Econometrics one at the very start of the week uni begins again. But at least there's still some space in between to rest. Take a break. Watch a movie or two (or a dozen). And not feel guilty if I were to miss any classes.

The MoMu ball was fun(ny). I wasn't planning to go initially. But Erwin made an offer I couldn't resist.
Rock up and take photos please. Free entry.
And then it became one of those moments where you don't question why, but rather, why not.
Photos will be up shortly. I'll give them the honours to load 'em up first before I do.

In the mean time, here are some photos of mooncakes instead.
Which I'm eating.
Right... now.
While typing all this.

Yup.

took a walk

Have I ever told anyone that I've always wanted a Vespa?
Since I was in highschool, in fact. The only reason I didn't really voice out my desire for one at that time was because it was simply classified generally as a scooter and at that time, from what (at least my town) we were exposed to, 'mat scooters' weren't exactly the coolest (with their super carrot cut pants and all) thing around. But over time, especially since moving here to Melbourne, my appreciation for the Vespa has all but faded. It's grown, in fact. They are honestly the epitome of coolness. Don't believe me? Ask Alfie.

Today, I took a walk around Collins Street and explored its little nooks and alleys. I've always wanted to do that, but have never found the time nor the effort. So today, after having lunch with a friend along Flinders St, I finally decided to take some time to do just that. Armed with my baby camera, of course. T'was quite the experience. Totally relaxing, I must say. Blending in with the busyness of the street, I was but a tourist for one afternoon. Collins Street (not the main one itself though, but the little tiny alleys within it) is what I believe to be the most colourful and richest spot in Melbourne. Tiny cafes hiding around a bend, bars under and above every walkway, shopping plastered everywhere, and it's always busy, busy busy!

Everywhere I turn, there's the rich aroma of coffee being brewed and sounds of light traffic passing through the lanes muffled by the tinkering of glasses. It is pretty much the coffee capital in the city. And I love coffee.

I spent a good hour and a half there just exploring Collins' little secrets, ending it with a stop at Mag Nation to say hi to another friend who works there. Another cool spot to hang out at. Heaps of magazines to read. Sweet deco. And awesome coffee. Apparently. Hehe. I've never actually tasted it there before, but my friend's the chief barrista, so it's gotta be good.

If only I could do this everyday. I'd be bored, I know. But better than being confined within the four walls of a library doing Econometrics. Life, I guess, goes on...

Oh, and on another plane of matters, I've moved my photoblog.
I got sick of domaindlx's imposing google ads on my page and nonsensical pop-ups that happen to be recognised as spywares on my computer. So I decided to take the lazy way out with Blogspot instead. Hence, it can be now found at www.focus-ed.blogspot.com.
Drop by sometime and give me a yell.
Till next time.
