Among the hills of the meteorite
Lies huge; and moss has overgrown,
And wind and rain with touches light
Made soft, the contours of the stone.
Thus easily can Earth digest
A cinder of sidereal fire,
And make her translunary guest
The native of an English shire.
Nor is it strange these wanderers
Find in her lap their fitting place,
For every particle that's hers
Came at the first from outer space.
All that is Earth has once been sky;
Down from the sun of old she came,
Or from some star that travelled by
Too close to his entangling flame.
Hence, if belated drops yet fall
From heaven, on these her plastic power
Still works as once it worked on all
The glad rush of the golden shower.

You scored as Philosophy. You should be a Philosophy major! Like the Philosopher, you are contemplative and you enjoy thinking about the purpose for humanity's existence.

So happy for them!! And they won the photo competition too! How cool.

In my grandfather’s house, there are many rooms. However, it is not these rooms that made the house special. What made my grandfather’s house unique is this wall in his house. It is being said that the success of a man is in the kind of family he raised. Well, then this wall would be an apt representation of my grandfather’s pride and success as the man of the house. This wall is the wall of the graduates. It displays the photographs of each smart-looking graduate (ahem) in the family in their graduation gown. It has been the pride of my grandfather.
Survivor of World War 1 & 2, a national renowned Chinese poet and calligrapher, a sawmill enterpriser, father to 11 children, grandfather to 30, great-grandfather to 17 + 1 on her way, and at the age of 97, I think his greatest wish and pride is to see all his descendants successful, living a good and healthy life. I am probably too young to know exactly when this wall tradition began but it must have started way before I was born. I remember seeing them in the old house and had always wished for my own photograph to make it onto the wall one day. I would stare at those glorious photographs of my aunts, uncles and cousins in admiration wondering when would be my turn and whether there would be enough space when it comes to me, as the photographs are ordered by rank and age. And so ever since I was a kid, I have been inspired or maybe brainwashed to want to go to college and bring back a photograph of my own for that wall.
Even though the old house had been taken down, we continued the tradition of the wall into the new house. And adding onto the line, we have our cousin Jeremy graduating from UWA joining all 18 of us on the wall this new year. This marks an end to cousin Erica sitting at the tail of the line after a good 4 years. The line of photographs spans over 40 years till date and the next in line would be cousin Jun graduating from UCLA in 2 years time. Would there be enough space for everyone else? Definitely YES!

This wall is just a small fraction and a sneak peak into the family as a whole. Not everyone holds a college degree in the family and that doesn’t mean that they are not successful and that my grandfather doesn’t take pride in them. May it never be! On the contrary, some of them are more successful in the eyes of my grandfather. Oh well, that depends on what you mark the definition of success by. The wall is a good representation but it is not the complete representation of my grandfather’s success as a man bringing up his family.
