journals, journals and more journals

It has been quite an unproductive week. Either that or I'm just a really stressed person who is never satisfied at the amount of work I've done. Haven't really got into the mood of doing anything uni especially when you have to work from home. There's just too many distractions around at the moment. Can't wait for the admin people to get my access cards done so I can hop into my new 'home' and be surrounded by extremely hard-working people. Need motivation! Ugh.

So, I'm officially stationed at the Alan Gilbert building on Grattan Street. Have to love it! I get my own cubicle rather than squeezing with 14 other people in this puny room with no air conditioning or ventilation. Plus, everyone's already saved the best spots in the honours room which leaves me with a crap table near the door. Extremely distracting. So, hooray for me cause I get a better, cooler desk. And the plus point is that a friend from my Neurophysiology is in the same room. Like, right behind me!

My 6000 word literature review is due on the 20th of April. Which means I have a couple of months before I hand in this 20% MAJOR review. I'm starting to feel the pressure cause I can't find the right journals. Eh, you think so simple go to wikipedia or google mer! Needs to be scientific ok! I came across this paper which was on obesity. Didn't notice until I was half way through that it was published in 1961. WOW. I wonder if it's still relevant. Haha. The words he used was so layman that I thought it looked more like a newspaper article. There was a part in the introduction that said, "if the patient looks fat, he probably is fat." I had to read it twice before it really registered because it is VERY RARE that you find such use of language in scientific journals. FYI, it was refering to how to determine whether someone is fat. Anyways, I had a good laugh and thought I'd blog about it.

So, there. I should so be getting back to researching. I'm just afraid I might end up being so gila that at every conversation I engage, I'll start explaining about my project-obesity, atherosclerosis, cholesterols and tocotrienols. When I finally get a better idea of what they are, I'll attempt to blog about it.
I'm off. woopidooo*
