Meet the relatives....

Was invited to dinner with Zakky's Aunt and Uncle who had come to help their daughter (his cousin) settle down in Melbourne. It wasn't exactly the first time i had met them or had dinner with them. His Aunt's friend cooked up a feast for us the week before too. My most memorable part of last night's dinner was the dessert-sticky date pudding with ice cream. Oh...i must add that it was homemade =) (jon, you must be so jealous!Sticky date puddiinggg.......yummmmmm) We took the recipe home. Ahh...i can't wait to try it out. yummm......*drool...

So, first day of uni wasn't as bad as i had expected. I was scheduled to have an hour of lecture/seminar, break for lunch and then a full on four hour practical class. Man...just dread my mondays now. However, because it was the first prac class and because it was the first day of uni, they had a short experiment planned for us. We were out in 2 and a half hours. Me toooooooo happy!!!! muahahhaa...I was looking at the course overview and it looked difficult cause one experiment will run for 6 weeks. Which means....if i stuff up one...then i'm in big trouble!! yikes....Okok...better stop complaining...

Once heard a friend say that some people, girls in particular, complain but others whine. I wonder which is worse *evil grin...

Melbourne days so far

The things i've been doing since i got home from KL...in no particular order :-
a) Unpack....still yet to finish unpacking coz i've got some stupid stuff which i refuse to pack up...coz i'm too lazy to.

b) Sitting on trams...travelling from Carlton to Docklands...

c) Making a yogurt cheesecake...which i must say is pretty darn good. Oh btw, it was for Isaac's 21st. I probably ate 1/4 of the cake myself....
(Oh and Bunnie, i want ur oreo recipe!!)

d) Celebrating Isaac's 21st at Blue Train. Happy Belated Birthday, dear =)

e) Missing home...and all the food back there....

f) Missing JYG and Soph....Guys, my life here is nowhere near fun like that back home...(Woops...people in Melbourne, don't get offended)

g) Thinking of meals that is easy and good, grocery shopping for them, and cooking them...then finally enjoying the fruits of my labour.

h) Night market last Wednesday where i bought this good-looking necklace and 2 cute rings.

i) Stressing about my 4 hour practical classes on Mondays and feeling horrible when i hear my friends having 4days of uni only! I've got 18 pathetic hours of uni-three 9am classes and a lucky 8am class on Wednesday. Darn...i gota start sleeping early.

j) Newest entry ever- Playing Starcraft till 2am in the morning with Isaac and Aaron. I've never been a computer game person but this is addictive. Maybe it's the therapeutic...u know, building all the machines and killing those darn aliens!! Muahhahahah!

k) Feeling bored

l) Swimmingggggggg......

Okies...can't think anymore....

Indoor archery

Spent my Valentine's Day with Bunnie and Indy. Initially, we were meant to go to Red Box and sing our lungs out but who would've guessed that their rooms would be fully booked out by 12 pm. What's wrong with all these people!!! Nothing better to do! Anyways, so we walked around and found this indoor archery place which had nobody. So three crazy girls decided to give it a go....After all, we paid 10 bucks for 2 dozen of arrows. I would try it again next time =)

Every year is the same. Dinner at Uncle's place. Then we'll proceed to playing cards with the relatives. This year, i thought i'd give it a try. Though each game varied from about 50cents to RM1, it sure was fun seeing how winning or losing can make the game so addictive. The money was more like to keep track of who the 'winner' was coz eventually, everyone kinda got their money back after the game. Hmm, it sure wasn't about the money, but more of 'pushing for luck'. Maybe the next game would deal me better cards. hehe....Mum and her auntie were nice enough to pay for me when i had lost that round.

This year would be a year of no any pows from that side of the family. I guess they wanted to remember and respect my grandfather who had pass away early 2004. Sometimes, it's not about the ang pows but more of the 'kemeriahan' and 'suasana' during a dinner with soooooooo many people. Oh yar....i helped mum wrap wantons. And the food was so yummy =)
