Do apples wake you up?

So, not too long ago, i was having this chat with Gracey about the ways to keep ourselves awake when we have an early class, a class after lunch and any sort of class that is terribly boring! As you can tell, we are experienced 'sleepers in lectures'. No matter how many hours of sleep we had the night before, it didn't really seem to help. Somehow our body associated lectures to sleeping time. And when we SHOULD be sleeping, we're wide awake. Well, that applies for me lar!

Then i remembered how i stumbled upon this statement that claims, eating apples can wake you up more effectively than coffee. So, i confidently put my hopes on that bold statement which is supposed to be true facts that they printed on the piece of paper that is stuck to the adhesive side of the Libra pads. Maybe Grace could try it out and lemme know if it worked. But obviously she didn't. Haha.

Yesterday, my bro and i had to wake up around 7:30am to pick my parents up. So i quickly grabbed an apple to see if it could help wake me up. Crunch crunch crunch*. Upon finishing the apple, i still felt as tired and sleepy. HAH! Didn't seem to work on me. But what i found helped was when i took a slow jog towards the arrival gate to meet them. What was funnier was that they had walked all the way to the car and i had totally missed them. Haha. So i had to run ALL THE WAY BACK to the car which was parked over at the other end of the waiting area.

Now, THAT woke me up!

So, do apples wake you up?? I don't think it really works on me. Maybe i should try other kinds of apples. Fuji apples certainly didn't work. Haha. I was probably most awake the whole time i had to munch on the apple.
You can try it out and tell me if it does work.

Girls night out

Just came home from dinner with my Life* Expedition group girls. Ugh. Such a long name. Always enjoy some makan time, almost always ending with coffees and cakes. So we checked out this place on Victoria Street called Acquum. We were greeted with this Italian looking, Malay speaking waiter who kept us pretty entertained with his fluent Malay for most of the time. Haha. I even felt a little ashamed because i'm supposed to be able to speak better than some ang mo who's been in Jakarta for over a year and picked up the language only through books and interactions with people. Woah. The food was YUMM. Definately worth me going back again. It is in the entertainment book, too. Haha..

Anyways...

The other day, i was waiting for my lecture when my friend with another friend walked towards me. So as usual, i greeted my friend and looked briefly at her friend and smiled....just so it doesn't look rude. Haha...And her friend looks at me and went, "Winnie, you don't remember me ar?? Literature class. I used to sit opposite you....". I hadn't the faintest idea who he was, partly because i just woke up, and because his hair had grown so much longer that i couldn't recognize who he was. Heh. It took me the rest of the evening to realize who he was. Though i still vaguely remember much about my Trinity days. hmm..
*embarrassed.

An even worse experience was another friend from Trinity shouted out my name "WINNIE KAM". So, i looked over. This time the face looked familiar but i'm HORRIBLE with names. The next best thing i could do was....smile and say..." Eh, HIE! he heh heee" I was so SUPER embarrassed when he said, "You can't remember my name right....Har."

Woopsie! Ok....If ever i forget your name, please do NOT be offended because i'm REALLY like...seriously bad with names! Especially chinese names that even you yourself may find it difficult to pronounce.

My sincerest apologies goes out to everyone who thinks i'm TAU. I can get quite blur. Hehe

I wonder..

Just a few random thoughts that came to my mind. Haha..Do leave a comment about it.

Do you:-
1. Pour your milk in the bowl, then your cereal? Or do you pour your cereal, then the milk in.

I tend to pour the milk in first. I don't know why but i just do it in that order.

2. Brush your teeth AFTER your breakfast. Or wake up and brush your teeth before anything else happens.

I HAVE to brush my teeth in the morning before i have my breakfast. It's jsut too disgusting.. ewww.

3. Drink soup as an appetizer or have it last?

I tend not to like soup as much cause i had it everyday when i was younger. Even when we were supposed to have a western dinner. Chinese soup with chicken chop and sweet corn. What a clash. but i drink it last so i can have an excuse that i'm too full, can't finish. Haha

=(

I am very unhappy. Sigh. Didn't think i'd ever be this unhappy. Well, the last time i could remember being this unhappy was...oh, i shouldn't even be thinking about it because it's only make me feel more pathetic about it. I thought i was so good at telling myself that i'm ok, and that i feel ok, or that tomorrow will be better. I actually did feel better for quite a while. But it was just a matter of time before i got back to square one.

No one told me this was going to make me SO unhappy. I'm tempted to turn around and walk away. Better off that way perhaps. Help me, God.

100th entry!

Haha....Was going to blog about something random when i realized that this is my 100th entry. teehee. How cool is that. Maybe i deserve and 100th entry birthday song too. LALALALAAaaa....

Feeling a teeny weeny bit moody at the moment. Maybe it's because i've been in my room for the past 4 ish hours. Oh my goodness!! Got this test next wednesday so really burying my head in my books and notes. Should see the size of my text book. Haha..

Shucks...

Been reading some of your weird habits. And i nearly laughed out loud when i read them in the library this morning. People must think i'm nuts! haahah...Probably thought i was reading my lecture notes and somehow found it rather amusing. teehee...Can't wait for holidays!!! Though i'm so used to waking up early, i don't think it'll be much of a holiday. My parents coming toooooo. For the WHOLE holiday. Shucks....stress*

Tagged

So, apparently, i've been Tagged. According to the rules, i think i have to list out 5 weird/unusual habits.
So, here goes. (with some help from Zakky)

1. I like to smell things. Haha..I didn't even realize it until Zac told me that i actually like to 'put my nose up to stuff'. Like if i see a bag that i might like, i'll pick it up and smell it. HAHA. Or....maybe my text book too. Duno how weird is that. Maybe a LOT of people like to smell their things too. heh.

2. I scratch my head when i'm feeling kan-cheong. That is so weird but uncontrollable sometimes. Unknowingly i just scratch my head and then realize only when people start to look at me funny or laugh at my peculiar behaviour. Have to make myself not scratch the head. haha.

3. I clean the house when i'm stressed. The toilet, or vacumming or wiping the kitchen. I think the toilet is my fav cause there's the sense of achievement when i see it sparkling. Much better than facing my books!

4. I can't sleep at night. Well, it used to be a problem and so what i'd do is recipe surfing. Log onto any website and search for interesting recipes that i could attempt. Hehe.

5. When i sleep at night, my bed should PREFERABLY be against the wall. Well, i say preferably cause there are circumstances where i can't have it that way, like.....in camps. I find it quite hard to sleep if its not against the wall.

I wonder if i'm weird. Haha...

lalala

Ok...i'm feeling really restless at the moment. Maybe i need a haircut but am too lazy to sit there for an hour and watch them cut my hair. But my hair is so long to the point where i really cannot tahan. I might just do something impulsive. Hehe...

Can't wait for Friday!! And then Saturdayyyy. Yipeeeee!
I like the weekends =) It means that i can sleep in. And not have to wake up at 7:25am. Ugh. Oh wait. Sunday must wake up early. Haha..But it's to something that i enjoy doing.

Everyone around me seems to be looking for jobs...Or working. Omg...i feel so lazy...Too lazy to get job. Though i should be considering it already huh...
